We are working on many upcoming changes, such as new quests. Those will be released in the near future.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where NPCs would have loot, but the loot would be empty.
  • Fixed a bug where the engineer quest items would not stack in the inventory
  • Fixed a bug where the "Take All" loot button would ignore the second item if there were three items.
  • Fixed a bug where default loot would error due to a typo in code.
  • Fixed a bug where you could have a one person party.

Features

  • You can now select party members using the F1-F10 keys. (F1 being party leader)

Patch 0.8.8.17011601

Quests

  • Released a few quests in Goldmere. More coming soon.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where casting a spell would cause a cooldown regardless of whether or not it was completed successfully.
  • Fixed a bug where casting spells like would not be consistent with the cast time they're supposed to have, leading to it sometimes feeling like it was insta-casting.
  • Added a global 1 second cooldown to all spells that aren't on cooldown when a castable spell is casted to prevent button mashing glitching up the spell casting system.
  • Fixed a bug where a race condition with the spell interrupt that was being caused by the player being out of range would cause the casting UI to break.
  • Fixed bug where the 'In Memorium' quest loot item would not work after it was used by a player, making the quest unable to be completed by other people.
  • Fixed a bug where clicking a quest interactable repetitively on high latency would result in it counting more than one use to the quest counter. (E.g. putting out fires, you could continuously click and get 2-3 fires put out)
  • Fixed bug where certain spells would work in combat situations, when they shouldn't. (E.g. , )

If you've been a part of the alpha, you may get an item in the future which changes your armour appearance to what it would've looked like in Legacy Alpha. Nostalgia!

Professions: Mining - Progress

As we dig on, the mining profession is closer to reaching completion.

For v1.0 of the mining profession, you will need a pickaxe to actually mine resources. I may add an actual leveling system for professions later on.

The mining update will probably hit DEV later this week, depending on how things go.

Dynamic PvP

Earlier this week I mentioned adding what I call "Dynamic PvP" - where your level does not matter in PvP.

I have a good prototype working, and below you can see the differences:

Alternate hotbar saves

  • Each branch now has it's own hotbar save, meaning that you can now use multiple branches without having to rebind your hotbar each time you switch. Heads up: It may ruin your old hotbar save.

Developer Update, December 2016

As you're all aware, I haven't worked on Heroes' Legacy in quite some time - so I ran a survey today to determine what it is people want to be done with the game.

Classes

People seem satisfied with Warrior, Mage & Cleric. The Rogue and Ranger classes were a bit more mixed when it came to people's opinions - due to them lacking the play ability and items that the first three classes have.

I will look into further improving those classes in the future to ensure that they're also as fun as the other classes.

Questing

People seem to like the questing in the game, however there is definite improvement in that area in which people have suggested the quests could be improved.

A few things that stuck out that people were suggesting:

  • Logic quests - Quests that involve the brain to accomplish. Puzzles, etc.
  • Quests that involve special mechanics, finding rare NPCs as well as "ride" mechanics like turrets etc.
  • More exploration based quests - I can understand this, since doing quests in a quest-hub area can get boring.

Professions

Everyone seems to want Mining/Blacksmithing currently, which is great because I've already done some work on it! It will be coming very soon.

What people would like to see added

I'd like to see more intuitive boss fights, such as boss skills and perhaps phases. Most MMOs really hit it home with boss fights, and I believe Heroes' Legacy shouldn't be an exception.
  • I agree with this, bosses in HL right now like Elementius are very basic on their cycle of attacks. Definitely will be something looked at for the future.
Sockets in weapons to add elemental damage or perks like gems that give you Strength and other attributes that conform to your playstyle.
  • This has been planned for a while, with mining being worked on this should give opportunity for people to randomly get gems and I can then build a crafting system out of it to make higher stats.

Other things to add

  • There are plans to improve PvP by introducing the dynamic level system to it. It should mean that someone who is level 1 and someone who is level 30 will have equal opportunity to win a fight rather than a level 1 being completely wiped.

Goldmere

  • The zone of Goldmere has been changed, along with new quests that accompany it. It is also the first zone that has the new quest instancing feature.

Premanium Fragments

NPCs

  • Dynamic level NPCs (basically they scale to your level)
  • Interface
  • Stats in character panel now only show stats relevant to your class/branch

Max Level

  • Instead of earning XP when you reach max level, you will gain a number of s based on the difficulty of the enemy you face. They can be used to purchase end-game items.
  • Added an item called which when three are combined, will make a legendary weapon that suits your class.

World entities

  • Will render locally, meaning instanced quests will be easier to develop.

Spells interface changed

  • The spells interface is now in a separate window

R15 (possibly)

  • The port of the R15 rig has begun, however no ETA for completion. It's currently being tested.

Background
Heroes' Legacy is a large-scale RPG on ROBLOX that takes the player into the fantasy world of Zenerith, with 3 classes to play that have different playstyles as the players advance. The player starts in the Southern Isle, a territory while netural - has problems of it's own with mysterious sudden appearances of threats in the region from dark forces unknown.
